PS5: it’s official, the console will not be presented at E3 2018 :
The PS5 is not yet for now! Sony’s future console will not be mentioned by the E3 conference of June 2018. On this occasion, the Japanese manufacturer will not make any hardware announcement, explained the president of the US division. Sony has instead decided to focus on its video game licensing, such as the highly anticipated The Last of Us 2.
In 2018, sales of the PS4 will decline for the first time in its history. This year, Sony expects to release only 19 million units of Playstation. In 2019, the sales figures of the console will collapse to 16 million copies. For Sony, the PS4 comes slowly at the end of its commercial career. Nevertheless, the Japanese firm is in no hurry to release his successor, the famous PS5.

“We have wonderful content and fantastic news. I think everyone will be happy, we’re going to do it from a different perspective, “said Shawn Layden, president of Sony USA, in a podcast. Sony will not make any hardware announcements during the E3 to focus on its video game licenses. Games like Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man (due in September 2018) and The Last of Us Part II will be at the heart of the event. During E3, Sony will not present any other devices. So do not expect a new virtual reality headset or a new accessory dedicated to it. Sony has nevertheless planned several software ads around the PSVR, its virtual reality headset. In the coming months, the manufacturer is expected to market several new titles, such as Blood & Truth, Firewall or Cool Paint VR.
